Simcade racing

Simcade racing is a subgenre that's in-between the extremes of arcade racing and sim racing. These games often have less realistic physics than sim racing games, but not entirely arcade like physics. There tends to be more accessible options to cater to a broader audience. These games can also have mechanics often in a more subdued way borrowed from arcade racing such as nitrous and drifting. Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport franchises are popular examples of the genre.
