I find that, despite what you might expect, this game sorely lacks replay value. This is because there are too few base resources, the tech tree is too linear, energy production is not very nuanced, and the terrain does not appreciably impact the way you play. I'd rather see nothing in particular be mandatory (or even always accessible) but lots of optional paths to take. The uranium / nuclear power stuff is a good step in the right direction. I know this game is still being expanded upon so let's hope for more like that.

A very unfortunate case that people that make good art are trash people. But I will always separate the art from the artist or I won't be able to enjoy anything lol
kind of the opposite for me. After a while I would get too overwhelmed by the amount of stuff on belts and exponentially growing sets of numbers that I would get fatigued very quickly.
this tickles the male brain in ways few games can. just wish the rest of the game was remotely interesting but that's the problem with survival games innit, all glue and no substance

What? That’s just meaningless word salad man. If there’s one game you can’t accuse of having no substance it’s Factorio, virtually everything you do leads to a bigger goal.
What even is the “rest of the game” besides the factory building mechanics? The game doesn’t even have survival mechanics really, just some pretty basic tower defence ones to keep you on your toes.
