Title
The first NASCAR game to hit the console, 99 toes the arcade and sim line, keeping everyone happy; you can jump right into it or tinker with both game and car settings. Well, "happy" is a long stretch, unless you're a NASCAR fan. Beyond a good damage system (both visual and mechanical), little here will impress. Car handling feels off, but is a little better on the sim setting. Commentary is awkward and repetitive. Graphics are poor, though the trade off of a decent frame rate is welcome. The sound is nausea-inducing; the music is a mess of compressed guitar beneath dull engine whine. Painful.
