I've basically decided "fuck it", if I really really love something and it hits me at all in that sweet spot I'm giving it a 5 star rating. Don't think that I just hand them out, though, there are just particular musical elements in a lot of genres that I just love, and when I feel a band uses those elements particularly well, sometimes it gets me good.
