Bloodborne

Mechanically, i like it slightly more tbh... I think bloodborne presents a quality over quantity kind of weapon pool, all of the trick weapons are really cool and fun to use. That's not to say there aren't any cool weapons in dark souls/elden ring though. I know this gets brought up over and over again but the entire blood vials system and not being able to rest at lamps make this game such a pain in the ass to play sometimes to the point where I don't see how anyone can think it's perfect

Outside of trick weapons and its aesthetic i don't think there's much that bloodborne has over from's other games that warrant it a 4 point fucking 53 on this site. It has some of the lamest and most forgettable bosses in their catalog (outside of their visual designs), none of which really go above being a 7/10 fight. Old hunters, however, is near perfect and almost makes the base game look kinda mid in comparison

Agreed. I think ER easily tops this both in terms of artistic direction, gameplay and world design. It's the atmosphere where Bloodborne wins it imo.

Pthumerian descendant is easy because he is very simple to parry, plus put the rune that increases visceral attacks and you are done with it (maybe it wont work very well with low skill/dex). If you dont parry, he is indeed hard. Defiled amygdala was the worst though, but still manageable.

I've recently replayed DS1 and BB back to back, and let me tell you, BoC is so, so much worse. I think you're just misremembering what a fucking boring slog BoC is. Yes Micolash is a failed "puzzle" boss experiment in the same vein, but at least it's dynamic, he runs around, changes from phase to phase, you actually get to fight something. The runback is also super short. With BoC you just stand against a stupid, asshole wall that randomly one-shots you, and then you have to run across the entire level, including a lava course, to try the same dull, unengaging run against the random wall of death.

Bloodborne is the best game of the top 10 of this site, second one is dark souls. I didnt played lies of P yet, seems great, same with stellar blade. I love how korean devs are getting great inspirations from bloodborne and now sekiro.

Perfect game, the most easy 10/10

Level layout is excellent only until you reach Byrgenwerth, after that it becomes a wasted potential and starts dipping downhill and never recovers until the final level "Mensis"
I prefer the level design of Elden Ring and the first Dark Souls.

After you hear about Byrgenwerth its disappointing when you get there and its super shallow, i wish they invested a bit more into that area, it feel unfinished or halfbaked i dont know how to put it, but compared to Yharnam the rest of the game is very lackluster.
Even at the DLC the best level there (Clockwork Tower) never really beats Yharnham for me. Yharnaham is a legit 10/10 level, sadly the rest nowhere near as good.
